Temp Map
If the server needs to go down for a prolonged period a temporary map may be set up.
December 2019 (1st Temp Map)[edit | edit source]
In early December a vote was made by John200410 letting the playerbase decide if the map should be moved to a new server in Germany or stay where it was in the Eastern US. At this point the server performance was terrible, every day the server would start freezing and lagging about 4 hours into uptime, forcing John to decrease the restart intervals. The storage was also small at 900 GB, due to Elytrafly the size of Oldfag jumped at an insane pace. In its Six and a half months of uptime it got a larger storage space than 2b2t got in its first 3 years of existence. While the ping would be worse for the majority American players (but very large European minority) it was a worthwhile sacrifice. The new server would have 2 TB of storage and better performance overall, along with a slightly cheaper cost. Overall the vote won by 80:20, and John would eventually get to moving to the new server.
December 17th, John would finally start up the Temp Map as he went over the 12 hour process of moving the map from the USA to Germany. At the beginning of the Temp Map Dainert and his friends quickly got to getting the Dragon Egg, despite SSJN's declared intentions of hoping to get it. Rather than getting the Dragon Egg though, SSJN was getting to start his group "Fuck Women Gang". Dainert and his friends were considering on a creative way to destroy the Egg, when he would stun his friends by throwing the Egg into lava right in front of them.
The ops/restrictions were overall more lenient, with LolRiTTeR spawning in a block of Bedrock at spawn and practically all hacks/exploits being enabled. LolRiTTeR also spawned in a 32k and killed Dainert with it. Namy and Afdud reporting duping. Afdud was the first and only player to get totems. This was because the map was only 30k x 30k and there was only one Mansion spawned inside. However, using exploits you could pass the world border, and while you couldn't interact with anything, you could fly as far as you'd like.
A couple pvp battles happened, notably between Nwop and DezzDox, but pvp was overall pointless as with flight it was incredibly hard to kill anybody. DezzDox later got himself stuck inside of the Bedrock cube and lost all his chorus fruit.
One of the last notable events was SSJN distributing his Fuck Women Gang shields around spawn with many people gathering and having them such as GeNk and StormTroopers. Around the 12 hour mark, the map was finally transferred and that was the end of the Temp Map.
July 2020 (2nd Temp Map)[edit | edit source]
Due to an issue with the map rolling back, On July 22nd, the map switched to a second temp map. The Dragon egg was gotten and held by many people like Ancelestria, RaazedLightning, and Savata, making him the only person to hold it on three maps. With the problem fixed the server would be back up 3 days later.
During the course of the temp map, The race for the dragon egg was inevitable. The two leading sides were Kekistan and Samaria3. Samaria3 was able to get into the end about 10-15 minutes before Kekistan, However due to the fact that the End dragon was glitched and failed to spawn they could not claim the dragon egg. Due to this they travelled out to get end city loot to have the gear advantage on Kekistan. Approximately 10 Kekistan members were present in the end. Instead of focusing on end loot, Kekistan were able to get LolRiTTeR online, who was able to fix the problem and the First end dragon on the temp map was generated, Soon after this The end dragon was claimed by Savata. Savata gave the egg to RaazedLightning who Then Gave Ancelestria the Dragon egg. After which the map reset.
October/November 2020 (3rd Temp Map)[edit | edit source]
On October 30th 2020 the server storage unexpectedly ran out, and a temp map was soon set up by Charlieandtom35, and redirected to the oldfag.org domain. It used amplified generation, and the spawn was placed on a extremely tall mountain. The world border (only 10k out) was quickly reached by multiple players. The main map returned on November 2nd 2020. A world download was promised, but the server it was stored on got corrupted, and the map was lost.
