The old map or as known as the "pre-reset" map was started by John200410 during 2016-2017. The map didn't get many players due to John recently getting exposed for selling child porn to keep the server up and running. But while the server was up 3 big teams ruled the server.

The old map had the old 1.12 dupe enabled(figured out by Jamie who made the first set of stacked gear).
The old pvp was more aids due to everyone using stacked totems, stacked gear, and the server always lagging due to a massive dupe stash on the server.

A common misconception is that the original map was lost by the hosting provider. There actually was a vote held by John himself after a long period of inactivity to shut down the server or not, and the yes option won, so the original Oldfag.org was shut down.

The old map appeared one more time for Oldfag.org's 2021 April Fool's event, as John reset the map to the original 2018 map.

Team TopKek VS. Meme Team
Team TopKek and Meme Team were at war with each other on the server. Meme Team won the first few battles, but Team TopKek slowly started to beat Meme Team over time slowly making them disband and all the members going over to Team TopKek.
